Jar Test Workshop
This is a lecture and hands-on course focusing on the optimization of performing jar tests in the pursuit of drinking water plant operating efficiency. This course helps the operator determine the best sequence to perform the jar test and can be used to evaluate current and proposed chemical use. Simulated raw water samples, lab apparatus, and chemicals are used throughout the workshop.
Description
POINTS: 12 (Water, Wastewater)
COURSE DURATION: 12 Hours (Advanced)
SUMMARY: This is a lecture and hands-on course focusing on the optimization of performing jar tests in the pursuit of drinking water plant operating efficiency. This course helps the operator determine the best sequence to perform the jar test and can be used to evaluate current and proposed chemical use. Simulated raw water samples, lab apparatus, and chemicals are used throughout the workshop. Currently certified operators needing a refresher course to gather more knowledge in preparation for taking any water certification exam may also benefit from this course.
MAJOR TOPICS:
- Matching the Jar Test to the Plant
- Optimizing Chemical Dose and Feed Rates
- Plant to Bench Data Scaling and Correlation
- Public Health Protection (Safe Drinking Water) through Process Control
